Vorige week schonk Coccinelle 350 knapperige, groene appels aan basisschool De Vinderij in Lokeren. E\u00e9n voor elk kindje op de school; en dat zorgde voor blije gezichten in de klaslokalen. We spraken met Joris Verhoeven, marketing- en sustainability manager bij Coccinelle, over dit initiatief.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Waarom hebben jullie appels geschonken aan een school?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Bij Coccinelle geloven we dat duurzaamheid verder gaat dan ecologie alleen. Het gaat ook over mensen en welzijn. Na selectie hielden we een aantal appels over die n\u00e9t te dik waren voor onze verpakkingen. In plaats van ze te verkopen, kozen we ervoor om er iets bijzonders mee te doen: kinderen blij maken.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Waarom specifiek basisschool De Vinderij?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We vinden het belangrijk om lokaal impact te maken. De Vinderij is een school in Lokeren waar we een warme samenwerking mee konden opzetten. Zo zijn de appels niet alleen duurzaam gebruikt, maar komen ze ook terecht bij kinderen die elke dag leren en groeien.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Hoe reageerden de kinderen?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Fantastisch! Je zag het enthousiasme in hun ogen toen ze de appels kregen. Sommigen aten hem meteen op, anderen sneden hem in stukjes om te delen met klasgenootjes. Voor hen was het niet zomaar een appel, maar een verrassing die de schooldag leuker maakte.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Wat betekent dit initiatief voor Coccinelle?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Het past perfect binnen ons \u2018end of waste\u2019 programma om voedselverspilling te vermijden en -waar mogelijk- sociale meerwaarde te cre\u00ebren. Wij willen onze producten niet verloren laten gaan, maar inzetten om een verschil te maken. Zo dragen we bij aan een wereld in balans.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Gaan jullie dit vaker doen?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Zeker. We zien dit als een voorbeeld van hoe kleine keuzes een grote glimlach kunnen opleveren. Of het nu gaat om een school, een sociale organisatie of een lokaal project: wij zetten onze stromen slimmer in. Voedsel is er om van te genieten \u2013 en als we dat kunnen koppelen aan een maatschappelijk doel, dan doen we dat met plezier.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
